GAA Resources to support the Primary PE Curriculum

The GAA has recently updated and developed a number of resources for Primary School Teachers.

The PE Céim ar Aghaidh is a teaching resource book designed to assist Primary School Teachers to deliver the PE Curriculum. It is an addition to the Céim ar Aghaidh/Step Ahead Resource, which is a cross-curricular education resource covering all subjects of the Primary School Curriculum.

An Irish language version is now also available here.

National Go Games Week 2015 (Mar 30th - Apr 4th)

National Go Games Week takes place on the week of March 30th to April 4th. It is a celebration of children’s Gaelic games and marks the start of the 2015 playing season. 600 boys and girls from Gaeltacht communities will participate in a blitz in Croke Park to mark the launch of the initiative. The theme of this year’s event is a celebration of Irish culture among children – our games and our language. This initiative is being run with support from Connacht GAA, Scéim Oiliúna Peile agus Iománaíochta Gaeltachta na Gaillimhe and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.

Games are small-sided versions of Hurling and Gaelic Football which have been devised for children up to and including 11 years of age.
