This section includes practical case studies from clubs who have engaged in Green Club Biodiversity activities, such as tree planting, the greening of club walkways, the elimination of herbicides and pollinator-friendly planting. Assess
The Green Club Biodiversity Audit is designed as a first step to help your club to decide what biodiversity actions to focus on. The Biodiversity Audit will help your club to identify biodiversity assets that you already have in your club grounds and to recognise areas in your grounds that your club could enhance for biodiversity.
Identify
This section contains suggestions for a wide range of actions that Gaelic Games clubs can undertake to maintain and enhance biodiversity in their grounds. There’s a lot of great ideas here – we’d recommend that clubs choose one or two simple actions to start with. The Pollinator Guidance document is a comprehensive guide to pollinator-friendly biodiversity actions in sports clubs while the individual infosheets contain simple, standalone biodiversity actions that you can take in your club to protect native biodiversity and wildlife. The Toolkit Ten Tips are a good starting point for clubs new to biodiversity while the Neighbours in Nature infosheet contains ideas on linking the biodiversity actions in your club to local history and heritage.
