GAA Coach and Player Development Summer Webinar Series 2026.
This webinar "Games Based Approach. Designing a Learning Environment" is delivered by Luke Barrett.
Luke is current coach with Derry Senior Football Team. Following successful coaching roles with Donegal Senior Football Team (2024-2025) and Donegal Minor Teams (2016-2018 and 2020-2023), he also coached the successful Loughmacrory Senior Football Team to their first Senior Tyrone Championship in 2025. Other coaching roles with Maynooth University Freshers 2014-2016 and ATU Donegal Freshers 2022-2025 provide Luke with vast experience in coaching our games.
Having recently completed a Masters in Skill Acquisition in Sport (MTU Cork), Luke previously completed a Masters in Applied Sports Coaching (University of Limerick) and published the first of his research papers, Developing skill within the context of a Game-Based Approach in 2025 under the supervision of Phil Kearney and Paul Kinnerk (https://doi.org/10.1177/17479541241311673).
In this webinar, Luke will share his experience and research in Games Based Coaching and how to effectively develop and improve decision makers and problem solvers on the field of play.
