This webinar "Aligning Team Meetings to Match Day" is delivered by David Sharkey.
David Sharkey is the founder and director of Polaris Teams, a global high-performance communications consultancy working across elite sport and business.
He is a pioneer in the design and application of Themeing - a culture and motivation-shaping methodology - and is currently completing a Professional Doctorate in Elite Performance at Dublin City University, undertaking the first research into meeting practices in high-performance sport.
David has worked with some of the world's leading coaches and organisations, including Ronan O'Gara and Stade Rochelais across six seasons, Arsenal Women, GB Rowing, Rugby Australia, IRFU, Dublin GAA, Melbourne Storm and Port Adelaide FC, among others. High performing teams and leaders across sport and business all around the world, trust him to assess and to refine their design and delivery of key messages.
Every minute spent in a meeting is an investment of everyone’s time, energy and focus: this session asks what return you are getting. We will look to design meetings that directly transfer to what happens on the pitch. Too often meetings are one-way events where coaches talk and players listen; here we’ll look at ways to get them thinking so that it shows up in training and in games. Video analysis is widely used by teams but not always as an effective learning tool. We will cover how to get the most of all the clips and footage you’ve been working through so that players can get more from every analysis session. Finally, we’ll cover how to check your messages are landing so that everyone leaves the meeting with a clear understanding of how we improve.
