What is the Future Leaders Skills Challenge?

  • This is a 1 minute hurling / camogie or football challenge 
  • Player starts at the cone a - furthest from the wall 
  • Player solos to cone b - 7m from the wall 
  • Player strikes / kicks ball to hit the targets
  • Player with the most points after 1 minute wins

  • Place 1st cone 7m from the wall & 2nd cone 5m further Back
  • Stick 4x 50 point & 1x 100 point a4 size sheet targets on the wall
  • Set up targets as seen on video
  • Use handball/hurling alley or PE hall for challenge

  • Players get 5 pts each time they solo from one cone to another. (10 pts for soloing from cone a to b & back)
  • 4 of The targets are worth 50 pts and 1 is worth 100 pts.
  • Players add their points from soloing and hitting the targets
  • Players go as fast as they can for 1 minute and score as many points as possible.

  • The idea of these challenges is to get you into the idea of working together to plan and run events and to have fun while doing so.
  • Most things you plan this year will be for others, this is for you, to get you planning and active as quickly as possible.
  • The Future Leaders students run the skills challenge / challenges in school with their transition year class and any other class they want to include in the event.
  • Record a video/reel of the event in your school and share it with us @gaafutureleader
  • We will be giving away some great prizes to the schools who take part.

  • (Locally, maybe you can give a prize of your choice to the student who gets the top score in each code (hurling, camogie, football & ladies football) in your school.)
