Implement best practice in protecting the welfare of underage players • Understand how to create a child-centred environment within the club • Reflect on the Club Children’s Officer role & develop an action plan • Understand & promote the Child Safeguarding Risk Assessment and Child Safeguarding Statement • Understand how to communicate with young people • Deal with Code of Behaviour breaches and manage Safeguarding issues

Club Children’s Officers should endeavor to promote/maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing environment where children can develop and enhance their Gaelic Games skills in a safe and enjoyable environment. The Children’s Officer should promote a child-centered ethos and seek to eliminate practices that impact negatively on children while promoting enjoyable participation in sports for young people.
