We are delighted to announce that the Future Leaders Student Awards are back for 2024. These awards are for pupils who excel in the various modules. The winners of these awards will be invited to Croke Park for the Leinster Hurling Final on Saturday June 8th to shadow some experts in their fields. They will also win an O'Neills Future Leaders Half Zip top and tickets to the match for their parents / guardians.

The competitions are as follows:

  • Refereeing: The two pupils who submit the best Future Leaders Refereeing tasks will be on the sideline with the fourth official and spend time in the Hawkeye Studio for the Leinster Final to see what it is really like behind the scenes for match officials on big match days.

  • Sports Journalism: The two pupils with the best Future Leaders Sports Journalism tasks will be linked in with the print, digital and TV journalists in the Media Centre on Level 7 of Croke Park for the match.

  • Sports Photography: The pupil who takes the best photo of their Event during Events Month will be linked in with a Sportsfile photographer pitchside during the match.

  • Event Management: The four pupils with the best Event Management tasks based on a Future Leaders event they organised, including photos / links to videos / social media, will be linked in with the Croke Park Stadium Operations team on the day and see what happens behind the scenes on match day.

 

To enter these competitions follow these simple steps;

  • Pick the pupil in your school who has completed best task related to the competition you want to enter.

  • Email the task to [email protected]

  • The subject / title of the email should have the pupils name, school and competition they are entering - eg. John Murphy - Dublin CBS - Sports Photography Competition

  • In the email send the contact details for the Future Leaders teacher and the contact details for the pupils parents / guardians.

  • The closing date for entries is Wednesday 15th May and winners will be announced on Wednesday 22nd May.
