Claims Management System

This page provides a few details of the claims notification administration site and the change of providers.. Please see https://www.gaa.ie/my-gaa/administrators/gaa-injury-benefit-fund for the full details of the Fund.

On December 1st 2019, the administration of the GAA Injury Benefit Fund moved from Willis Towers Watson to DWF Claims.

With this changeover comes a different site to log your Clubs Injury Benefit Fund claims - https://gaabenefitsportal.dwfclaims.com/ - but also a much easier and straight forward claims experience.

Benefits include:

  • Full IT ent to end solution for claims from notification until settlement - The new reporting portal will have the capabilities to accept the required documentation via scanned copies - scanned receipts, wage slips, medical, declaration sections etc will be acceptable without the requirement to post in originals. DWF Claims will assess the claims as the documents are uploaded and in turn update the portal as to what other documentation may be required to finalise a claim or details of claim payments. *No letters will be issued requesting documentation / details of payments.* Dependent on what officer as in the Club Secretary / designated Injury Fund administrator registers for the portal, they will receive a prompt via email when they must action something on the portal. Spot checks will be made and originals requested from time to time as part of annual audit checks under the Fund.

  • County Board will no longer be required to sign off on the County Board declaration - The declaration section is changing, and it will require the signature of the claimant, the team manager and the Club Secretary or designated Injury Fund Administrator. County Secretaries will be required to sign the declaration for players whose injuries are sustained playing / training for the County. Whilst, they will not be asked to sign the declaration section, County Secretaries will still be required to approve the claims on the on-line portal so they will know what cases are being reported.

  • Direct payment of Injury Fund Benefits to the affiliated unit - Previously all Injury Fund payments are issued to the County Board for which led to delays in these payments being received by Clubs. DWF Claims will be issuing payment directly to the affiliated unit and will lead to a faster turnaround on affiliated units receiving payments. County Boards will of course receive the payments directly in relation to claims registered against the County teams and notification of it will be on the portal. All County Boards will receive a report each month of all of the payments issued for units within their County and also a report on all claims registered for units within their County.

  • At a glance details of payments issued on claims and documents outstanding for cases to be paid - As above all of this information will be noted within the Portal. The Full cost of an Injury Fund claim Vs how much the Fund reimbursed so it will make it easier for administrators to manage the claims and units can see at a glance what was paid out.

  • Better reporting capabilities for the use of affiliated units and GAA HQ to make decisions on the future of the Fund and the benefits it provides - The current reporting provided is limited, affiliated units will be able to obtain details reports on the claims registered, payments made. Croke Park will also be provided with improved reports which will not alone assisnt in making decisions in relation to the Injury Fund but will also assist other areas of the Association such as Player Welfare, Games Development to name but two.
